Building our library means building our community.

The expansion of the Washington County Free Library will almost double the size of our central library. When complete, there will be improved public access to technology, quiet spaces for study and reflection, rooms for meeting and learning, and appealing settings for performances and other cultural events.

Construction is expected to be complete by Fall 2012. While most of the funding is arranged there is still a funding gap of $3.0 million. A capital campaign, Building Our Great Good Place, is underway to raise funds necessary to bridge this gap.

Please explore this website through and be sure to watch our video to learn more about this project and ways that you can help. Should you have any additional questions please do not hesitate to contact the Library offices.

While naming rights for various rooms, suites and building features are being extended to corporations, foundations, organizations and individuals that make major gifts, the participation of every citizen is encouraged. Every gift is important to the success of this campaign.

We need your help. No amount of gift is too small.
